Resume and interview support + leadership experience
Peace Corps service and similar international development work opportunities are highly professional and selective. Peace Corps Prep requires the following activities that will strengthen your candidacy for the Peace Corps (and other professional endeavors):
- Have your resume critiqued by your Career Coach and/or PC Prep Faculty Coordinator.
- Develop interview skills by participating in a mock interview with your Career Coach.
- Develop at least one significant leadership experience and be prepared to discuss it thoughtfully. For example, organizing a campus or community event, leading a work or volunteer project, or serving on the executive board of a student organization.
- Connect with a Peace Corps Recruiter or Returned Peace Corps Volunteer about volunteer service, the application process and benefits of service. All Peace Corps Prep participants interested in applying for Peace Corps should complete this online form at Peace Corps Prep Connect to connect with Peace Corps recruiters.
- Enroll and pass zero-credit UGEP 484: Peace Corps Prep Seminar during which you will work on your resume, cover letter, complete a mock interview, engage in discussions about global service, and complete the PC Prep Exit Checklist.
