Global internships are built into faculty led programs and affiliate programs. Julia Viehweg, Summer 2026 Intern with Nebraska in Barcelona
My internship at Little Forest in Barcelona was an experience of a lifetime that pushed me completely out of my comfort zone. I went into the program as a freshman who knew no one, which was very intimidating at first. Throughout my internship, I was able to become much more independent and confident in myself. Working at Little Forest taught me how to communicate with people from different backgrounds and how international businesses operate. By the end of the program, I was able to see a huge difference in myself compared to when I first arrived. I came into the experience as a freshman who didn’t know what to expect, and I left with lifelong friendships, professional experience, and so much more confidence in myself. It showed me that some of the best experiences can be found in doing things that initially seem intimidating. I think about my experience abroad every day, and it being one of the best times of my life. I would definitely recommend this program with the internship as it made my time abroad so much more valuable and gave me skills that I will be able to use throughout my whole life.
