My Background

I am a Global Experiences Coordinator and the liaison to the College of Engineering and the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. I initially joined the Global Experiences team as an intern after moving to Nebraska for graduate school. I hold a Master of Arts Degree in Educational Administration with a Student Affairs specialization from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. A lifelong learner, I also earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in General Management, Marketing, and Entrepreneurship, as well as a Technical and Vocational Education Diploma.

Outside of work, my family (spread across three continents) and travel keep me busy. My passion for exploration was sparked in childhood by frequent family moves driven by my father’s career. While still in grade school, I had the opportunity to visit one of the seven natural wonders of the world, Victoria Falls—known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya ("The Smoke That Thunders")—as well as Lake Kariba, the world's largest man-made reservoir by water volume. An early international trip during elementary school cemented my lifelong commitment to seeing as much of the world as possible. I love learning and sharing about cultural similarities and differences—especially through food—and will gladly swap recipes and stories gathered from my travels over the years.

Education

  • M.A., Educational Administration – Student Affairs, University of Nebraska-Lincoln
  • B.Sc., Management and Entrepreneurial Development Studies, Women’s University in Africa (WUA), Harare, Zimbabwe

✈️My Study/Work Abroad

  • Academic Journey: My graduate studies at UNL served as my own immersive study abroad experience. Having gained so much from learning in a new academic and cultural environment, my goal is to ensure every student has the opportunity to experience studying abroad at least once!
  • Professional Journey: Prior to my role in GEO, I spent many years as a Computer Science instructor across diverse education levels—ranging from early childhood to tertiary institutions, including a seminary. I bring that extensive international teaching background directly into my work supporting students today.

🗺️My Ideal Next Travel Destination

  • 📍U.S. Bucket List: I am on a mission to visit all 50 states! I have crossed 35 off my list so far, so any new state is my ideal next stop.
  • 🌍Global Wishlist:
    • Zimbabwe will always be on my list - the warm hospitality, weather, food, sights, and sounds are unrivalled.
    • Islands & Coastlines: The Canary Islands, Croatia, Maldives, the Caribbean, Seychelles, and Cabo Verde
    • Cultural Explorations: Central Asia, Southeast Asia, Rwanda, and regions across West and North Africa
