PIESL courses are taught by caring, dedicated, and professional faculty with advanced degrees in their fields. Teaching assistants are not utilized as is the case with some other programs. All of our faculty have extensive experience working with English language learners and most have studied other languages. Many have traveled or taught in cultures outside the United States giving them first-hand knowledge of and sensitivity to the challenges faced by international students and their families. Ongoing professional development is encouraged and supported by the department which ensures that PIESL faculty and staff are knowledgeable about the latest methods and technological applications in the field.
