Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) alumni Paz Alvarez and Francisco Voulminot recently returned to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where they completed their fellowship in Spring 2024.

Funded by the U.S. Department of State, YLAI supports emerging entrepreneurs from the Western Hemisphere to strengthen their leadership and foster economic development through international collaboration. Paz is CEO and co-founder of Zavia Bio in Argentina, and Francisco leads Abito, a waste management company in Uruguay. During their visit, they met with students in the Engler Entrepreneurship Program, presented at the AgTech Connect 2025 conference, and reconnected with local partners.

Their visit underscores the long-term value of international exchanges in building global networks.
