Nebraska will join universities throughout the U.S. to celebrate International Education Week on November 17 - 21. The initiative is organized nationally by NAFSA: Association of International Educators, the Forum on Education Abroad, and the Association of International Education Administrators to celebrate the impact of global learning and exchange.

As universities around the U.S. prepare to celebrate International Education Week (IEW) on Nov. 17–21, Global Affairs at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln invites students, faculty, and staff to join in recognition of the many global connections that shape and enhance teaching, learning, and research at Nebraska.

This year’s celebration encourages departments, colleges, and student organizations to host events that highlight the benefits of international education and exchange, showcasing the many ways Huskers engage globally — at home and abroad. Activities include lectures, cultural showcases, film screenings, workshops, and interactive conversations that bring international perspectives to campus.

“International Education Week is a time to recognize and celebrate how our international students, faculty, staff, and global partnerships make Nebraska stronger,” said Maegan Stevens-Liska, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Global Affairs. “Each event—big or small—creates space for connection and helps us better understand our shared world.”

Throughout the week, Global Affairs will host events celebrating Nebraska’s international community, including Global Hot Drinks in Louise Pound Hall on November 17, and Just Go! — a campuswide series of study abroad highlights — and the International Scholar Reception, both on November 19. The University's Flag Display featuring more than 200 flags representing the nations of UNL’s students, scholars, and partners will also be showcased at the Global Education Center in Louise Pound Hall.

Additional information and a full calendar of events is available at https://global.unl.edu/international-education-week/. If your unit or organization plans to host an event or partner with an existing activity, please submit your details at https://go.unl.edu/iew-event-registration by November 14.
