Zifan (Stefan) Kang is a second-year finance and actuarial science major at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, originally from China. Thanks to the International Welcome Team, Kang had a smooth transition to the U.S. and now works for the team. In his experience at UNL, he's started on the path to making his dreams come true.

Opening New Doors
Marketa Podebradska, originally from Prague, Czech Republic, is a student in the School of Natural Resources with a specialization in climatology. During her undergraduate degree, Marketa attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln while on the Robitschek Scholarship and discovered a new culture and new friends that she fell in love with. After winning the Dean's award for her undergraduate thesis, she completed a summer job and returned to UNL as a graduate student with funding for her degree.

Prepared for the Future
Felipe Alves came to Nebraska from Brazil with weak English skills. However, through the Intenstive English Program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, he gained the skills he needed to be successful in courses and post-graduation. After enjoying the comraderie and academic diversity of students at UNL, Felipe graduated and accepted a job in Nebraska.

Yoonhee Kim was not familiar with Nebraska when she left her home in South Korea to earn her LL.M. degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Law.
