Transfer

Requirements

All applicants are evaluated for admission based on their previous academic record.

To be admitted to UNL you must have completed:

  • A broad section of course work in English
  • Native language
  • Math
  • Natural sciences
  • Social sciences
  • Show proficiency in the English language

Students who do not meet English proficiency requirements:

You will be offered conditional admission.

Fully-Admitted Students:

You will be evaluated for merit-based scholarships and can begin making progress on your degree immediately.

Note:
ACT and SAT tests are not required for admission to UNL but may be required for direct entry into majors in the College of Architecture, the College of Engineering and the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts.


Letters of recommendation are not required for admission.

International transfer students are those students who:

  • Wish to complete their bachelor's degree at the University of Nebraska
  • Require an I-20 to study in the United States
  • Have completed more than 12 hours of university level course work.

    International students transferring from other US universities will need to apply as international transfer students.

Applications After Published Admissions Deadlines

If you submit application materials after the published semester deadline you may still be eligible for admission. Any application received after the published deadline will be placed on a wait-list. The Admissions Committee will prioritize the wait-list based upon candidates that meet UNL's assured admission requirements. The University of Nebraska–Lincoln assured admission requirements are listed on our website here.
